Material: Silk

This long-sleeved kimono features white wisteria flowers boldly drawn on a cherry blossom background.

It is characterized by long sleeves that touch the ground when worn, representing youthfulness and luxury.

The wisteria, which blooms in clusters around April and May, has been so popular that events such as wisteria viewing parties have been held to celebrate its beauty.

In 800 AD, wisteria was a symbol of the powerful Fujiwara clan in Japanese history, so the flower itself was considered to be of high status.

Since then, wisteria flowers have been made into designs and used in various patterns and family crests.

The author, Morio’s family crest also uses a wisteria flower called Kudarifuji.

The wisteria flowers are surrounded by peonies and chrysanthemums, and the pond drawing on the hem is surrounded by irises, and various other flowers are depicted to further enhance the luxury.

The lining, called Hakkake, is red, and has chrysanthemum and a unique pattern called manji tsunagimon, which makes a faint shape appear when exposed to light.

This is the history of this kimono before they meet you.

Now they will make another history with you.
