Material: Silk

The whole kimono is decorated with a design of flower arabesque on a dark blue background.

In modern times, kimonos with freely and boldly drawn patterns like this are becoming rarer. This type of design was probably created because people were able to enjoy kimonos in their daily lives.

Nowadays, even in Japan, the opportunities to wear kimono are limited to events such as ceremonies and weddings, so it is inevitable that the kimono will become a popular pattern that everyone will like.

Another unusual feature of this kimono is the colour of the inner fabric called “Hakkake.” In particular, bright red is applied to areas that can be seen at a glance as you move, such as the cuffs and hem. The artist's playfulness is expressed using red in contrast to the calm, cool colours of the kimono.

The best thing about this kimono is that it is in an unused condition, which is called “shitsuke oroshi”. This kimono has a pattern that cannot be seen in modern times, but also it is a kimono that has never been worn by anyone.

This is the history of this kimono before they meet you.

Now they will make another history with you.
