This tapestry uses an obi with a bold design featuring gorgeous floral patterns, also found on the mirrors of the Shosoin, and colourful floral arabesques, created using the Karaori embroidery technique.
 
The parts of the obi that are not embroidered have floral arabesques woven in fine gold thread, indicating that it was an obi worn for a prestigious occasion.
 
This item includes a stick and string for display.
