A haori worn over a kimono was useful in the cold season, but it was also essential for fashion.
Chrysanthemum flowers are representative flowers that Japanese people like to use for kimono patterns.
The pattern of chrysanthemums is densely arranged, but the colours are subdued, so it is thought to have been worn by women in their 40s and 50s.
It is coloured the chrysanthemum woodblock print, and if you look closely, you can see that each flower has a different colour. It is a precious item made by hand over time.
The round design on the lining, dyed white with pale pink, is called "Kagamimon".
More than 1,000 years ago, aristocrats decorated mirrors and other furnishings luxuriously, and these patterns are still used today as a gorgeous impression.
This is the history of this kimono before they meet you.
Now they will make another history with you.
